On October 18th 2007 the laboratory of water engineering (LIA - Laboratorio di Ingegneria delle Acque, www.lia.unicas.it) of the University of Cassino  was involved in the World Water Monitoring Day 2007 ( WWMD 2007 - www.worldwatermonitoringday.org), organized by the Water Environment Federation and the International Water Association. The monitoring activities have been carried out at the Public Park of Cassino by students of a technical secondary school supervised by Dr. Giovanni Esposito of the University of Cassino. These young students (about 40) had a lot of fun and at the same time they had the opportunity to become aware of the needs for water quality protection and to learn how to measure simple water quality parameters (pH, Dissolved Oxigen, Turbidity, Temperature).
