6 students from Azad university in Bandar Abbas participated in this project

Hormozgan province covering an area of 68,476 km2 is located in south of Iran and north of Persian Gulf. Bandar-Abbas, Bandar-Lengeh, Minaab, Roudan, Qeshm, Jask, Haji-Abad, and Abou-Mousa constitute the townships of this province.
The main part of the province is covered by mountainous regions. Zagross mountain range extends from north-east to south-east of the province and terminates to lime and sandy hills and high lands as well as coastal low lands parallel to the Persian Gulf and Omman sea.

Hormozgan province is one of important tourism areas, in national and international level, especially for its coastal and water attractions. Being one of the wealth resources of the Persian Gulf, pearl is paid due attention by the merchants. Persian Gulf, among global seas, is very rich from marine biological diversity point of view especially different species of fishes. Fishery is very brisk in Bandar-Abbas, Bandar-Lengeh, Bandar Jask and around Kish, Hendourabi, Hormoz, Qeshm and Larak islands. Roudan is an ancient geographical regions of the province enjoying pleasant weather compared with other coastal parts of the province.

Our team from Azad university in Bandar Abbas (Flora Mohamadizade, Shadi Khatami, Maria Mohamadizade, Parviz Tavakoli, Marziye Haj keramodini, Abbas Barkhordari) decided to measure some parameters in Sikhoran and Roudan rivers.

Measurements

Examine the source of our drinking water with the samples taken from the river

MAIN POINTS A 10 ml cylinder was loaded with sample of the water to be tested at 3pm. Two tablet of DO were added to dissolve. Therefore the color changed into pale pink. At this point the DO of 4ppm was confirmed. By checking the result with the table of data that crossed the Water Temperature a DO between 41% and 42% was approved. At the same time and with another cylinder that was filled with the same water a tablet of pH was added this time to inspect the acid base balance. The result was a range between 8 and 9. The turbidity of the river was tested with a can that was sunk in the depth of 20 cm .at the bottom of the can there was a black circle that after 5 minutes of remaining at the river slowly turned in to dark gray or pale black. After pondering the color the turbidity of the 40 TJU was obvious.
